Power Up! Poetry and Protest Songs event

Power Up Play Space (at Boots Rebooted art space, Bank Street, Bradford BD1 1PU – the old Boots shop – next to Cafe Nerro and Nationwide)
Power Up Play Space is an interactive space inviting you to do, make and talk about the things you are concerned about and to share creative ideas for responding and taking action.
Come along to our Poetry and Protest Songs event to exploring the power of words and music to express and explore our concerns. A chance to hear from and share with other Bradfordians and to have your voice heard!

‘ open mic’ session: bring along any poems, stories, words to read and share with people
3.30 – 4.30
Protest Songs with Austin Bradshaw
Create or ‘showcase’ your own protest songs with Bradford singer songwriter Austin. You can be part of coming up with something new, or bring something that you have already written. Feel free to bring any instruments, lyrics, ideas.
We’ll also be creating giant lists of our favourite protest poetry and protest songs, to be published in a collective ‘zine (DIY magazine) in print and online after the event, including a Brexit Playlist. Bring your suggestions!
For anyone interested exploring the power of art to change our world…Everyone is welcome!
